Do you know the structure of the asphalt plant? Or do you really know the specific functions of asphalt plant components? To sum up, the asphalt plant is a complete set of equipment used to produce asphalt mixture. The asphalt plant is mainly composed of batching system, drying system, combustion system, hot material lifting, vibrating screen, hot material storage bin, weighing and mixing system, asphalt supply system, powder supply system, dust removal system, finished material bin and control system. Next, this article introduces the asphalt plant components and functions of the different components by taking the stationary asphalt batch plant.

Batching System
The batching system consists of cold material hopper, cold material feeder, cold aggregate conveyor (including flat belt conveyor and inclined belt conveyor). Carry out the batching and the volume metering of aggregates with different particle size and convey them to the drum dryer.
Drying Drum
For the asphalt drum plant, the drying drum is the place where the cold aggregate is dried and heated and the mixture is mixed. For the asphalt batch plant, the drying drum is only used to dry and heat the cold aggregate. According to the difference between the inlet direction of the cold aggregate, the direction of the exhaust port and the flame direction of the burner, the drum can be divided into flame cocurrent flow drum and flame counter current drum.
The size of the drying drum is generally configured according to the standard asphalt plant, or it can be larger than the drying drum in the standard configuration. If the drying drum is larger or smaller than the standard configuration, it will affect the working efficiency of the entire asphalt mixing plant. Therefore, the customer is recommended to select a suitable one according to the standard configuration.
Combustion System
The type of burners can be selected by the customer. There are three types of burners: coal, oil and gas. The prices of the three combustion types are different, and they are selected according to the convenience of local fuel procurement.
The combustion system mainly includes drum burner, asphalt heat transfer oil pipe and heat conducting oil boiler. The burner is used to heat the cold aggregate and remove water, and the heat transfer oil pipe is used to heat the liquid asphalt to a certain temperature. And the heat conducting oil boiler provides heat for the whole combustion system.
The fuel tank can be shared with the heat transfer oil furnace or equipped separately.
Hot Material Lifting System
Convey the hot aggregate to the vibrating screen. The hot material elevator is matched with the drying drum. If the drying drum is too large or too small, the hot material elevator also needs to select the corresponding size.
Screening System
Vibrating screen is the core part of asphalt mixture mixing equipment, which is used to screen the aggregate, so that the aggregate can be divided into several specifications according to the specified grading, and then enter the corresponding hot storage bin for the next process.
Mixing System

The mixing of double horizontal shaft forced mixer occurs not only in the radial direction, but also in the axial direction. The main mixing area is located in the circumferential direction of the mixing body, which can make full use of the mixing space, so that the aggregate, asphalt and water can achieve the best mixing mode in the shortest time under the condition of low circumferential speed of the mixing blade, and achieve the best mixing effect.
Bitumen Supplying System
The asphalt supply system is composed of hot oil furnace (fuel oil), storage tank, oil unloading tank, asphalt pipeline, pump, valve and other devices to supply asphalt.
Powder Supply System
The powder supply system is mainly composed of conveying screws.
Electric Control System
Monitoring the production process and adjusting the related configuration according to actual conditions. The electric control system is mainly composed of the general distribution cabinet, operating computer, human-computer interactive touch (optional), lighting lamps, air conditioning, monitoring system (optional) and operating buttons.
Dust Collecting System
At present, the most economical dust removal system is bag house dust removal. You can also choose water dust removal or bag+water dust removal. In the standard configuration, it can be matched according to the needs of customers for recycled powder. If customers add more recycled powder, two dust removal chambers can be equipped. The single dedusting chamber shall not be lower than the standard configuration, otherwise the ash can not be discharged in time, causing failure.
