What is belt type concrete batching plant? The name mainly comes from the belt conveyor machine used in this batching system, which is usually equipped under the aggregate batching machine to deliver the measured materials to the main mixer host. Belt Conveyor in Concrete Batching Plant

Belt conveyor is a kind of indispensable and economical aggregate conveying machine in concrete batching plant.
It usually consists of sweeper, driving device, frame, hanging idler, parallel lower idler, diverting roller, tension device, hood, maintenance walkway, belt, hopper, adjusting screw and emergency stop switch, etc.

  1. The tension device is to make the conveyor belt have sufficient tension to ensure sufficient friction between the conveyor belt and the drive roller without slipping. At the same time, the length of the conveyor belt can be adjusted.
  2. The hood mainly plays the role of dust-proof and rainproof.
  3. The idler is used to support the conveyor belt and the materials carried on it to ensure the smooth operation of the conveyor belt.
  4. The adjusting screw is used to tension the conveyor belt and adjust the running state of the conveyor belt, so that the conveyor belt runs in the normal position.
  5. The redirecting roller is used to change the running direction of the conveyor belt or increase the wrapping angle between the conveyor belt and the drive roller.

The belt of the conveyor is an end-to-end adhesive tape, which is wrapped around the drive roller and the redirecting roller at the tail.

There are many idlers in the middle of the belt conveyor to support it. There is a charging device above one end of the conveyor, which sends the material to the conveyor belt, and some unloading devices at the other end used to unload the material.

In the production and transportation of aggregate, the unloading is generally at the end of the conveyor.

After the driving roller is driven by the motor through the reducer, it drags the conveyor belt to make a circular motion depending on the friction between the roller and the conveyor belt.

The materials on the conveyor belt unloaded by the charging device are transported away following the movement of the conveyor belt.

The inclined belt conveyor is inclined upward along the material conveying direction, and conveys the aggregate to the stirring system at a high position. The inclination angle of belt conveyor should be less than 30 degrees.

How Does Belt Type Concrete Batching Plant Work

Like other types of concrete batching plant, belt type concrete batching plant working process mainly includes five steps which are materials feeding, weighing, conveying, mixing and unloading etc..

Aggregates are loaded into batching machine by loader. After a short stay, they are loaded into the weighing hoppers. Then weighed aggregates conveyed by belt machine upper to the mixer host where other weighed materials are also loaded into.

It is worth mentioning here that the conveying of the powder is completed by the powder conveying screw.

Meanwhile, the water and additives are directly pumped to the measuring system and finally to the mixer.

In the central mixing machine, all materials are mixed by twin shafts, which are lifted and then dropped by gravity, in this way mixed by two shafts evenly and thoroughly.

In a short time (about 60 second), the finished concrete mixture is unloaded which means this batch of concrete mixing job is done.

What About Hopper Concrete Batching Plant

Hopper type concrete batching plant and belt type concrete batching plant are different types of stationary concrete batching plant.

At first, the biggest difference is the aggregate conveying methods, belt conveying machine and skip hopper lifting machine.

Second, belt type concrete batching plant has large conveying capacity and high output, so it is suitable for large and medium-sized construction projects. While the hopper station is more suitable for small-scale engineering projects due to the relatively small conveying capacity due to the limited volume of the hopper and small footprint.

Third, the former generally has a waiting silo, the main machine and the belt are closed outside, and the batching machine is mostly independent weighing; the latter does not, the batching machine is mostly cumulative weighing, and the structure is simple.

At last, the latter is more economical than the former due to its simple structure and so on.
