Concrete batching plant is a complete set of equipment for producing concrete. Its working principle is to feed, batch,
mix,discharge and transport raw materials ( including sand and gravel (aggregate), cement, admixtures, water and admixtures) according to a certain mixing ratio to produce finished concrete that meets the quality requirements.
According to the classification of concrete batching plant, it can be divided into commercial concrete batching plant and engineering concrete batching plant.
Commercial mixing plants are generally permanent structures, mainly providing fresh concrete for users within a radius of 40 kilometers.
Meanwhile, engineering concrete batching plants are generally used for concrete construction sites, such as railways, highways, bridges and other construction sites.
This article will compare and analyze the two types of mixing plants from the aspects of the structure, production efficiency, and overall layout.
Structural Composition of Engineering Concrete Batching Plant
A concrete batching plant consists of a raw material storage system, an aggregate and powder conveying system, a liquid supply system, a metering system, a pneumatic system, a mixing system, a control system, and an auxiliary supporting system,etc..
The commercial mixing plant and the engineering concrete batching plant have basically the same structure. The similarities will not be repeated and only the differences between the two are discussed in this article.
There is a certain difference between the commercial mixing plant and the engineering concrete batching plant in terms of structure. That is the aggregate measurement and conveying methods are different.
In commercial mixing plant, the aggregates are independently weighed, and each aggregate has an independent weighing scale, which does not interfere with each other during weighing.
When the commercial concrete mixing plant is in production, the aggregate is put into the aggregate weighing scale through the batching system. After the measurement is completed, the aggregate is transported to the temporary aggregate storage bin by the horizontal belt conveyor and the inclined belt conveyor.
At this time, other raw materials are already in place. According to the system settings, different concrete raw materials are put into the mixing system in sequence or at the same time, and concrete is produced after a certain period of mixing in the mixing host.
In engineering concrete batching plant, aggregates are usually weighed cumulatively. Several aggregates share a belt scale, and the aggregates are weighed in turn.
When the engineering concrete batching plant is in production, the aggregate is put into the belt scale through the batching system. The belt cannot run during weighing. After the weighing process is completed, the belt machine runs with load.
Because there is no aggregate temporary storage bin in the engineering concrete batching plant, the belt conveyor and elevator feed the aggregate directly into the mixing machine system.
Production Efficiency of Engineering Concrete Batching Plant
The production efficiency of a concrete batching plant is one of the important indicators to measure whether the batching plant is advanced. Commercial mixing plant and engineering concrete batching plant have different production processes due to different structural forms, and this difference is mainly reflected in production efficiency.
According to the production process, the working process of the engineering concrete batching plant can be divided into the following stages:
(1) The raw material preparation stage before the raw materials are put into the host;
(2) The feeding stage when the raw materials are put into the mixing host;
(3) The mixing stage in which the mixing host mixes the raw materials into concrete;
(4) The unloading stage of the mixing machine unloading into the transport vehicle;
(5) The vehicle preparation stage in which the transporter alternately receives materials.
The time required for the above five stages is defined as preparation time (t), feeding time (t1), mixing time (t2), unloading time (t3), and vehicle preparation time (t4).
Theoretical Production Efficiency Analysis of Commercial Concrete Batching Plant
During the continuous production process, the preparation time of the first batch of materials can be ignored. The formula for the theoretical productivity of the commercial concrete batching plant is:
Q1=V×3600/(t1+t2+t3)
where:
Q1——Theoretical productivity of commercial batching plant, m3/h.
V——The capacity of the mixing host, m3.
Note: When calculating the theoretical productivity, it is assumed that the vehicle preparation time ≤ feeding time + mixing time, that is, the production of the engineering concrete batching plant will not be delayed when the transport vehicles are alternately receiving materials.
Take a commercial concrete batching plant with a mixing host capacity of 3m³ as an example:
the feeding time is 15s, the mixing time is 30s, the unloading time is 15s, and the vehicle preparation time is ≤45s, then the production efficiency of the commercial batching plant:
Q1=3×3600/(15+30+15)=180( m3/h).
Theoretical Production Efficiency Analysis of Engineering Concrete Batching Plant
In order to compare and analyze the production efficiency of the commercial mixing plant and the engineering concrete batching plant during continuous production, the time required for the same working stage should be the same, that is, the feeding time is 15s, the stirring time is 30s, and the unloading time is 15s.
During the production process of the engineering concrete batching plant, after the discharge of this batch is completed, it is often necessary to wait for the next batch of aggregates to be lifted in place, and the time when the aggregates are lifted into place is the key to affecting the production efficiency of the engineering concrete batching plant.
Also taking the 3m3 engineering concrete batching plant as an example, the minimum time differenceâ–³t, from the end of the discharge of this batch to the next batch of aggregates being lifted into place, is 12s, so that the production efficiency of the 3m3 engineering concrete batching plant during continuous production can be calculated:
Q2= V×3600/(t1+t2+t3+△t) = 33600/(15+30+15+12)=150m3/h.
The concrete mixing plant is an organic whole composed of raw material storage system, metering system, conveying system, mixing system, etc. The layout is very flexible. Investors can flexibly choose the layout of the mixing plant according to their own site characteristics.
Normally, the main body of the commercial concrete batching plant covers a large area. Taking the 3m3 concrete mixing plant as an example, the occupation of the commercial batching plant is larger than that of the engineering concrete batching plant.
Conclusion
Compared the commercial batching plant and the engineering concrete batching plant from the aspects of structural composition and production efficiency, the two types of batching plant have their own advantages: the engineering station has a compact structure and a small occupation.
The scale of commercial concrete batching plant is large, but the production efficiency is high. Under normal circumstances, the purchase cost of a commercial plant with the same configuration is higher than that of a engineering batching plant.
Investors should choose a suitable concrete batching plant according to their own conditions and needs.
